Project for deaf people receives cash windfall

Clwyd West Assembly Member Darren Millar has welcomed news that a Colwyn Bay based project for deaf people is to benefit from the latest round of National Lottery funding.

In February, £9,991 of National Lottery funding was awarded to The Centre of Sign-Sight-Sound in Clwyd West after they successfully applied to The National Lottery Community Fund.

The money will help fund a weekly drop in for deaf people, and sign language interpreters so they can fully participate in activities and trips.

Darren said:

“It is always good to hear of projects in my constituency benefitting from National Lottery Funding. The Centre of Sign-Sight-Sound does great work helping to improve the quality of life and equality of access for deaf people and people with a sensory loss and this grant will enable them to build on the services they already provide.”

The grant will go towards room hire, interpreters and staff, training costs, and publicity.
