Clwyd West Assembly Member Darren Millar was left extremely impressed last week following a visit to the record-breaking Tenovus Mobile Cancer Treatment Unit, the largest in the world,
Darren was given a tour of the facility and heard more about how Tenovus’s three mobile units are taking cancer treatment closer to patients and cutting down long travel times for appointments.
“The Tenovus Mobile Cancer Treatment Unit is an extremely impressive facility and we are extremely fortunate to have it Wales.
“The Tenovus Mobile Support Units go to different locations each day, setting up in local car parks, supermarkets and community venues. They see fewer patients at a time, making it easily accessible with plenty of free parking.
“I was told during my visit that having treatment on board the Units is completely different to going to hospital, being less overwhelming, less stressful and altogether quieter for patients.
“Every year the Units save cancer patients around 45,000 miles of travelling to and from hospital and bring treatment closer to home for people in communities across Wales.
“I was extremely impressed by the Unit I visited and being a Guinness World Record holder myself, the visit was all the more special for me!”
