Clwyd West AM Darren Millar has welcomed the installation of new road safety measures in a Conwy town.
New signs have been put in place in Llysfaen following concerns about dangers for pupils and pedestrians walking to Ysgol Cynfran.
Local councillors contacted Darren earlier in the year to ask for assistance in securing improvements in road safety following a number of incidents which could have resulted in injury accidents.
Following a meeting with representatives with Conwy’s Highways Department new signs have now been installed.
“I am pleased that Conwy’s Highways Department have listened to the concerns put forward and acted on them. I know parents were extremely concerned for the safety of their children on the walk to school and these signs will hopefully provide them with peace of mind.
“I would like to thank local councillors for bringing this issue to my attention, it has been a pleasure to work with them to secure these improvements.”
Conwy County Borough Councillor Phil Capper added:
“These signs will be very much welcomed by residents who have been concerned for some time about road safety in this area and I would like to thank Darren for his assistance in helping us to secure these measures.”
