Community groups receive cash boost from National Lottery

Clwyd West Assembly Member Darren Millar has welcomed the fact that community groups in his constituency have received a slice of funding from the National Lottery over the summer.

Two groups in Clwyd West have received a total £7,425 of funding from the Big Lottery Fund between June and August.

Trem Y Foel Tenants Association in Denbighshire have received £4,650 and will use the grant to provide improved facilities for the community through the Trem Y Foel Community Centre.

Meanwhile, Menter Iaith, Abergele will deliver a series of activities for school pupils and families to promote the Welsh language in the local Community with their grant of £2,775, which will fund transport costs, sessional worker fees, a silent disco system, and administration and marketing costs.

Darren said:

“I am always pleased to hear of groups in my constituency benefitting from Lottery Funding. These groups do fantastic work in our local communities, often relying on volunteer help and the generosity of locals, so it is great when they are offered a helping hand.”
