Closing attainment gap “isn’t just about money”

Affluent areas of Wales are failing pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds, according to a major new study.

Large gaps between the attainment of children from poorer and better-off backgrounds are revealed in the Social Mobility Commission report.

Public meeting in Denbighshire village to discuss broadband problems

Clwyd West Assembly Member Darren Millar will be holding a public meeting in Llanarmon-yn-Iâl next month to discuss problems with access to high speed broadband in the area.

The meeting will take place on Thursday December 7th at 11.30am in The Old Schoolroom.

Road safety improvements confirmed for A494

Following a campaign by Clwyd West AM Darren Millar and local councillors, the Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure has this week confirmed road safety improvements on the A494 in Denbighshire.

Councillors urged to reject monthly bin collections

Conwy councillors have been urged to reject proposals to move to four weekly bin collection in the county borough.

The calls come as Conwy County Borough Council officers submitted a report to the local authority’s Oversight and Scrutiny Committee – Economy & Place.
