Clwyd West AM Darren Millar has called for action from the Welsh Assembly Government to tackle unadopted roads on the Sandy Cove estate in Kinmel Bay in his constituency.
Darren met with local councillors and the Assembly Deputy Minister for Housing and Regeneration on Friday to discuss the unmade roads on the estate and their impact on the health and wellbeing of local residents.
The cost of improving the roads on Sandy Cove was estimated to be around £3.5 million following a survey undertaken 5 years ago. There are around 250 bungalows on the estate.
Following the meeting Darren Millar said, 'The roads on Sandy Cove are in an appalling state - they are full of potholes and lack pavements, drainage and adequate street lighting.
'Residents should not have to put up with these conditions in the 21st century, especially the many on the estate with mobility and other health problems.
'We now need action, not just warm words, from the Assembly Government - unless they can support the work that needs to be done to improve the roads, it is very unlikely we will see any change on the estate.'
